Forsaken Few FAQ

Forsaken Few Guild Frequently Asked Questions

General

    What is Forsaken Few?

Forsaken Few is a World of Warcraft guild on the alliance side of the Malfurion server. The guild was founded by a group of experienced raiders who had enjoyed success together in Naxx and Ulduar, and who wanted to create a guild that could support further raid progression. Currently we are focused on 10 person raiding but interested in 25 person raids as guild membership and participation support it. The raid team achieves success by emphasizing teamwork, mutual respect, and having fun.

    What are the guild rules?

Forsaken Few's rules are mostly common sense, and outlined in this FAQ. Mainly we ask that you support your teammates and be cool. Taking unfair advantage of the guild or its members will not be tolerated.
Members are expected to abide by Blizzard's terms of service, EULA and game policies at all times.
We also encourage you to obtain and use an authenticator on your WoW account to protect it from unauthorized access. You can purchase a key chain authenticator at the blizzard store or you can get a free version for your iphone or other mobile device.

What does the tabard look like?

    Are we recuriting new members?

Yes, the guild currently is expanding and looking for all classes of level 80 players interested in raiding. Players interested in progressing towards raiding in the future are also welcome.

    How do I join?

It's super easy! Simply contact a guild member in game. There is no application process at the present time.

Can my alts joing the guild?

Yes, members may join the guild on their alt toons as well.

Is it ok that I have horde alts on this server?

    Yes.

    What happens to inactive members?

Members who are inactive for extended periods should let the guild officers know the circumstances if possible. Your characters may be demoted to help ensure the security of the guild bank. Extensive unexplained absence may lead to being removed, however if that happens you can always contact us again when you return.

What are the standard guild looting guidelines?

For everyday 5 person guild runs or other unscheduled guild groups, members roll on loot based on a "need before greed" policy. Members are encouraged to think of the overall benefit to the guild when deciding to roll on a piece of gear. In addition, materials useful for raiding support like enchanting mats are often donated to the guild bank if not specifically needed by a member present.
For scheduled raids, the guild uses a simple dkp system called "shroud". It is intended to encourage good raid behavior and support team advancement without favoring older members or frequent raiders too heavily.

What do I do if I have a complaint or compliment?

If you have any comment about the guild please either contact an officer in game or post on this site in our public forums.

What if I want to leave the guild?

We will be very sorry to see you go! However if you do decide to leave you will forfeit accumulated dkp and any guild rank. If in the future you can come back assuming you left on good terms. However members who leave repeatedly will eventually not be invited back.

Guild Ranks

    What are the guild ranks?

    1. Guild Master
    2. First Officer
    3. Second Officer
    4. Recruiter (able to invite)
    5. Member (able to access the guild bank)
    6. Initiate

    How do I get promoted?

All new members start as initiates without direct access to the guild bank as a security measure. After a brief time if you have not been promoted to member, contact an officer.
If you are interested in becoming a recruiter or officer, speak to the guild master or a current officer. Promotions will be based on your willingness to serve as well as your activity within and contributions to the guild. Officer positions in Forsaken Few are not simply recognition for length of membership or even for activity -- Officers have specific responsibilities they are expected to perform.

    How do I get demoted?

You may be demoted to protect the guild bank if you are inactive for a long period or if you appear to abuse your privileges. If your account is compromised or hacked, you will be demoted until it is back under your control. Officers and recruiters who do not perform their assignments will also be demoted. Finally, any member who breaks the spirit of teamwork and respect for other guild members will be considered for demotion.

Please refer to the guild roster

The Guild Bank

How do I get access to the guild bank?

Access to the guild bank is controlled based on rank in the guild and the "tab" or section of the bank. Access to certain items is reserved for officers only. New members have to wait a brief period before they are granted direct access to the guild bank. If you need something from the bank and cannot access it please contact an officer for assistance.

What are the guidelines for taking items from the guild bank?

In general, you should only take items from the bank that you need to permanently improve your character or to help the team during a run. You may not remove items to sell or make money for yourself. Anyone suspected of abusing their guild bank access will be immediately have their access removed pending investigation. Guild bank abuse will not be tolerated. Members are highly encouraged to get a blizzard authenticator to protect their account security.

    How do I contribute?

You can deposit items or money directly into the bank once you have access. Please try to keep it organized and do not dump useless items into the bank. Look around at what is in there to get a feel for what is appropriate to contribute and where to put it. The guild can always use enchanting materials for 80 level enchants, level 80 buff food and pots, and materials used to make these items. If you are unsure about what to do or do not yet have access, send guild bank contributions via in game mail to the guild master or a first officer.

What is the gold in the guild bank for?

The money is used to fund guild repairs for members on scheduled raids, as well as to subsidize enchants and gems used to improve raiding gear. We also fund additional bank space using these funds. In general, the guild is self supported by selling extra materials and BOE items from raids.

Raiding and Other Events

    How are runs scheduled?

Raid leaders (currently Jalarind, Tamarantha, and Pikulus) use the in game calendar to schedule raids. Members eligible (usually level 80) will see invitations on their calendar and are asked to indicate they plan to come by accepting the invitation. Currently we usually raid Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday and Monday nights at 10:30pm server time (8:30pm Pacific, 11:30pm Eastern). Raids generally last three hours.

Who goes, and what are those decisions based on?

Priority for raid spots is given first to those who may be already saved to our raid ID (for continuation runs), then to people who signed up on the calendar and showed up on time. Consideration is always given to raid composition (dps vs. heals vs. tanks, etc) and also to past performance as we try to put together a successful group. Speak to the raid leaders if you have questions about getting a spot in a raid group.

What are the guild raid looting guidelines?

Please refer to our loot rules for a full description of how we distribute loot in raids.

Addons

What addons are required for raiding?

Raiders in Forsaken Few are responsible for optimizing their performance by using appropriate addons for their class and role.
All raid members should use Deadly Boss Mods.
All healers and dps must monitor their own threat level and are responsible for maintaining threat below that of the tank. This can be done using many different addons like Omen Threat Meter or Recount Threat.
Paladins use PallyPower to organize raid buffs.
Raiders are required to use voice software to listen to raid instructions, however a mic is not required.

    What other addons are recommended?

We will be developing a further list of addon recommendations in the future. If you have a question about a specific addon, ask an officer about it.

Does Forsaken Few use voice-chat software?

Yes, both skype and ventrilo are sometimes used. Many member prefer skype because you do not have to push to talk, however many other prefer ventrilo because of the relative lack of background noise from open mics. Even if you don't have a mic, you should use voice software to listen to instructions during raids.
Download the ventrilo client here .
Download skype and sign up for an account here .

How do I get access to and use the Ventrilo server?

Please see the guild information in game for the IP address and password of our ventrilo server.
